In 2018, members of the Mexico-based girl group Fandango reunited as Las Fandangas. Rocio, Alexa, Liliana, Sandra, Anabella, and Marlene returned to the studio to record an updated version of their anthem, “Autos, Moda, Y Rock and Roll.” The name became short-lived as they obtained the rights to use their original name, Fandango.
Now as Fandango, two of the members left the reunion and the four remaining girls/women are keeping busy on social media promoting their return. The return is a little slower than fans may want. It’s now 2021 and we are screaming for more music, which apparently is coming. They have already released a follow-up single of “Hola, Que Tal“, and a Christmas single of the famous Timbiriche cover, “Que No Acabe Navidad.”
Starting off the new year, the four members of Fandango (Alexa, Rocio, Anabella, and Sandra) released an acoustic ballad version of their second single in 1987. “Un Million De Maneras De Olvidarte” was released on January 8, 2021. This song strips away all of the gimmicks and just allows us to hear the beautiful, mature voices and the harmony that they have mastered over the five years the group was in service.
This year, fans have been able to see the girls back in the studio but the outcome of those studio sessions is still under wraps. Speculation is that the group will release a new version of “Sueños Magicos,” which was the group’s next biggest hit. We will wait and see…
