Among the songs featured on this week’s Apple Music New Music Playlist was the band, Sonograma and the song, “La Herida” (The Wound). It was good enough for me to download the album and give it a listen for this week’s new music.
The band, Sonograma is a relatively unknown band that hails from Madrid. The band members are: Rodrigo Cominero (lead vocals and keyboards), Daniel Campillo (drums) ,Víctor L. Pescador (guitar), and Ángel Herranz (bass). Together, they released their second album this past week after a five-year absence.
Band, Sonograma drops their second album this week with great response from critics.
The album La Noche Mas Oscura (The Darkest Night) is a complete change from the band’s debut album which promotes the band as a rock and roll artist. A lot of the bands we are finding lately have been out of Spain and Sonograma’s album follows what has been the sound of the moment. There is a deep atmospheric feel to the music which is more of a mellow rock than hard as we have seen from them before.
I liked the song Apple Music recommended, but it wasn’t the best song from the album. Track two, “Arde el Imperio” (The Empire Burns) is a great song that I have already added to my upcoming road trip playlist. All of the songs flow well together until we get to the end of the album. My one complaint is that the song, “San Fernando” feels like it belongs to another album. It doesn’t mean it’s a bad track, just throws the zen off for me. I literally had to get up from the patio and check to see if the album ended because it didn’t fit.
Liking the album well enough to download the first album, I hope to go back soon and give the first album a listen. Definitely, check out this album on Spotify or Apple Music. You can find the band on Twitter and Instagram.
