The eighth album of the pop duo, Miranda!, Souvenir, was released this year and it might just be the group’s best album to date. The pandemic might have hurt many industries, but we are getting great music now when it comes to music. Quarantined artists spent time making music and when it comes to Miranda!’s album, you can’t get better than this.
Pop music is where it is at and you don’t have to succumb to the pressure of gimmicks or different genres to make fans happy. We are happy Miranda! Very happy.
From the first track, I was so excited to hear the rest of the album. I love the track, “Por Amar al Amor” (For Loving Love) is a fantastic fun pop song. There are two tracks on the album that feature other artists. Javiera Mena’s duet with the group sounds more like a song from the singer’s album than Miranda!’s. It’s a great dance-electronic pop song. The track that they share with Sidonie is another fabulous song that will have you bouncing in your seat.
During a press conference with the group, lead singer Ale Sergi stated:
“Souvenir is not a return to the beginning, it is a review of our entire career. In each album, we always want to do something different, but this time we wanted to do the usual, but better…”
This is true because, for a while, I had been a little bored with Miranda!’s productions. When I got such great tunes from the beginning of the album, I wanted to say: MIRANDA IS BACK! There are hints of disco, techno, and dance. This is what I loved about Miranda! from the beginning and I am glad they are giving the fans so awesome music.
