Aleks Syntek has not been silent during the quarantine. Last year, he released an EP called Desde Casa (From Home) which featured new home versions of a few of his previously released songs. This year, we have a completely new album Anatomia Del Amor (Anatomy Of Love). Thank you Aleks.
Aleks Syntek has been unapologetically against urban music and it is so great to see an artist stand behind his music as he does. Even as he has created his own label and is considered indie, Aleks has remained true to his pop music roots. He releases music without the gimmicks. It’s just straight-up pop music and he seems to have it done. That is something, the man knows how to write a pop song.
Anatomia Del Amor begins with one of the best tracks of the album, “La Extinción de las Especies” (The Extinction of Species). When I initially heard the song, I immediately added it to my daily playlist. It is that good. Syntek doesn’t stop there. The entire album plays together like the perfect anatomy. The line-up of songs flows and supports each other all the way to the powerful ballad that ends the album. Normally, I am not a fan of ending with a ballad on an album; Aleks’s build-up is superb.
2021 has been a great year for new music and we are just getting started. The album was released in February, so Aleks is starting his year off right with new music to welcome the end of the pandemic. Thank you for another great album, Aleks.
