Following in his musical lineage, Mario Bautista releases his debut album, Aqui Estoy
With over 1.7 million followers on his Twitter account alone, Mario Bautista embraced all avenues of social media. As a result, his album was a hit before it even hit the shelves. In less than one month, this album has over a million plays on Spotify. Whoever helps him with his social media marketing, needs to give me some pointers. It’s amazing what you can do with the instant gratification that social media plays.
Mario Bautista isn’t a stranger to the music world. His mother is Gloria Gil, one of the two sisters in the pop group Hermanas Gil. This relationship makes his cousin, the one-and-only Mexican pop star, Fey. This lineage could give Mario an advantage since he knows what to expect from picky music fans. He has spent almost two years pushing his numbers to make Warner Music Mexico stand up and take notice.
Tweens and teens will like Mario Bautista’s catchy tunes and soulful voice
His first single released on streaming outlets as an indie artist. “Ven A Bailar” (Come To Dance) probably the most noteworthy track on the album. His second single, “Si Me Das Tu Corazon” (If You Give Me Your Heart), was also a track that he released independently. It’s another influential and memorable song from the album. The third single hit the platforms just before the album dropped. It has urban influences and featured Puerto Rican artist, Elijah King. “Sin Tu Amor” (Without Your Love) reached over 1.6 million plays and is currently being promoted.
The album, Aqui Estoy (Here I Am)Â appeals to tween and teen fans that like groups like CD9. The music is poppy and catchy. It’s perfect for Top40 radio stations, and Mario has topped the pop charts. He seems to reign in the world of teen pop. His voice reminds me of a younger version of Kalimba. He has a lot of soul and rhythm in his sound.
The album as a whole is pretty decent, and I give props to the young artist for his marketing. The album is worth the listen if you are a fan of classic pop music.
