Lali’s sophomore album Soy already a GOLD success
Hours after its release, the second album of Lali Esposito went gold, and she is on her way to becoming a household name in Latin America. So who is Lali? And why is she so good?
Lali Esposito began her career at the age of six on a children’s television program in Argentina. She continued to act well into her teens with various television shows and dabbled in music with songs from soundtracks. It wasn’t until 2007, when the teen television show, Casi Angeles help shoot her career into local stardom. From the show, Lali along with four other members formed the teen band Teen Angels, which is similar to RBD. With Teen Angels, Lali released four studio albums, three live albums and received a greater following.
Teen Angels disbanded in 2012 and Lali became dedicated to her solo career. In 2013, she released a few singles that caused the Lali craze to begin. She released her debut album, A Bailar in 2014 and had been gaining worldwide success. This achievement allowed Lali to become the opening act for both Katy Perry and Ricky Martin. While receiving musical success, she has not forgotten about her acting roots and still continues to act in Argentina.
Lali Esposito Soy shows that she is more than just a pretty face and a good singer
This past May, Lali Esposito launched her newest album, Soy worldwide for digital download. The album released in Argentina on the same date. A month later, the album has been released in various Latin American countries, but won’t hit Mexico until July. Once Mexico releases, I am sure that she will be breaking records with this release.
The album flows between a range of genres that include dance, club, pop, rock, and soul. A lot of her sound reminds me of Belinda, but with a better voice. Lali’s vocal range blends well with all the genres she includes on this album, Soy. With this album, Lali shows that she is more than just a pretty face and a good singer. She helped co-write all the songs from the album. She has a good team behind her on this album. Many of the engineers and producers have worked with international famed musical acts such as Celine Dion, Rihanna, and Enrique Iglesias. It’s good to see that she has a strong team behind her and a loyal group of fans in front of her.
Soy was far better than I expected it to be when I jumped into this review. I enjoyed the dance tunes very much and can easily see them becoming anthems in the nightclubs. But I think that my favorite song off the album is “Lejos De Mi,” which reminds me of that rock opera style of music that Monica Naranjo released with her 4.0 album. It’s a kick-ass song that is strong and almost overpowers everything else on the album. As a whole, Lali Esposito SOY is complete and definitely worth the buy if you like Belinda or MariaJose.
