Girl punk is alive with The Gachises and their album Vacaciones En Nibiru
The Gachises is a band from Vilanova i la Geltrú, which is a providence outside Barcelona. The group consists of Almudena Luque (Vocals and guitar), Iris Urbano (Bass and Chorus), Lidia Serrano (guitar and chorus) y Raquel Rodríguez (drums).
Their music is a mix of punk rock and surf pop. The music is full of strength. Their songs have sharp guitar riffs, fast bass, and powerful drum beats. The Gachises’ power-pop-punk likes to catch you with their catchy choruses, irresistible and fun topics like snorkeling and vacations. They embrace the best of punk rock music from the 70s to deliver rock’n’roll that tells us stories and adolescents beings other planets. The Spanish quartet recently inked a deal with Warner Music Spain after an indie album made them stand up and take notice. The fourteen tracks on the album are full of pop-punk goodness that makes you want to love rock music. It’s not too hard that you scream, ‘what is this?’ This collaboration with Warner Music has opened up the doors to many markets where punk music reigns. The album can be found in Japan and Germany, in addition to the US and the United Kingdom, then, of course, Spain.
Vacaciones En Nibiro seems like an album that will be a great stepping stone for the band. First of all, the band appears to have a good time with the music. It doesn’t feel forced at all.
