I think I may have found my new favorite band with K!ngdom. The band released their newest single, “Tiburon” (Shark or JAWS) this past month and it showed up today on my new music playlist by Apple Music. Thank you Apple for telling me that I would like this song, I don’t like it… I love it in spite of the use of autotune.
The song comes after the release of another single, “Marte” which is a collaboration with Varry Brava and their 2020 release. The band had an album released in 2020, which is good but nothing like the funny and upbeat sounds from “Tiburon.” While both the album and single have good beats are well made pop albums, they are nothing like “Tiburon”.
“Tiburon” is a mix of electronics and guitars that are fun and full of energy. Its a sound that immerses you in the new pop and the new wave.
The single talks about fears, how to fight them by facing the shark that we all have inside. The video is fun and fresh, and at times can give you vertigo.
