Javiera Mena dropped a new track today in the midst of the world going crazy over COVID-19. Music is becoming more and more important in order to take our minds off what is going on around us. That is what Javiera Mena did for us today.
The song, “Flashback” continues where her previous music leaves off. The song has club beats and the electronic pop dance music that we are used to from her. It’s a fun little track that makes us crave more from her. This song has been hinted to be the first single from an upcoming new album that should be released by the end of the year.
The video premiered yesterday (March 26, 2020) on YouTube. She stated that the inspiration behind the video was a combination of Ghost In The Shell and Akira, both Japanese Anime that Javiera Mena loves.
The track is pretty awesome and we had it on repeat for most of the day.
Since that day, I have been study Latin pop and rock music and have become a Latin pop music historian through the publishing of articles, fanzine, and websites. My goal is to teach people about Latin pop music and the history behind it with my website, Siempre En Domingo.
