And here it is… The new original single from the female pop group, Fandango was released. “La Historia De Tu Vida” dropped today on streaming services and on YouTube with an official video for the song.
Written by Carlos Lara, one of the most respected and talented songwriters from Mexico; and Lynda Thomas, a former pop-princess from Mexico. The married team has created magic for Fandango with their newest single, which is the first original song since the reunion of the pop group from Monterrey. “La Historia De Tu Vida” is like an old friend. You don’t know exactly what you are gonna meet when you first come face to face with them but as you spend more time with them, everything you loved about them returns. This is “La Historia De Tu Vida”.
When I downloaded the song this morning (I couldn’t stay up for live release with the group because 4 am comes early), I was intrigued by the slight techno vibe I got from the opening music. When Alexa began to sing the first verse, that was the beginning of seeing that old friend. Alexa began her career with Fandango as they broke into the market and her voice was responsible for the song, “Te Siento Amor.” But we also got a chance to see what Alexa could really do as she joined Timbiriche, a few years later.
After Alexa song her verse, Anabella took over and she felt new and fresh because we really did not get to know her as well as the others during her time in the group. Anabella was only with the group for a short time before the group disbanded. Then they harmonized for the chorus and there was such familiarity and comfort when they came together. These are a group of women who have history and love for each other and it shows. Grab a pair of headphones and listen to each layer of the song. The highs and lows of their voices are working together so well. This is what a well-produced song can achieve.
I don’t really believe the smaller solos of Sandra and Rocio showcase all that they can be during the song, but you can really hear them in the chorus.
As for the video… Definitely, it is so fun to see them being pop stars again. I remember a couple of years ago when I reunited with Sandra in Monterrey, she was just a housewife and mom to her kids. She said she didn’t think of herself as famous. The table has now turned 360 degrees and she is back where she started… As a pop star. And boy do they look like they belong in front of a camera. And on a little side note, I was super excited to see a few of my photos that I took over the years made it into the video. Six of them that I could count. Thank you. They are part of the “history of my life” and as Fandango continues, they will remain such an important part of it.
Fandango is like an old friend. From 1986 to 2021, we have seen the ups, the downs, and marriages, the romances, the family, and the love of a generation that grew up celebrating the music of Fandango. “La Historia De Tu Vida” is now a part of the history of our lives.
