God, I love this song. The Mexican indie band, Camilo Septimo released the song, “Veneno” on July 23rd on streaming services and I have been listening to the song non-stop. The new song follows the band’s signature sound with a little bit more bounce than normal. Their atmospheric vocals and rhythms infuse pop music with electronic trance.
Lately, a lot of music doesn’t have the flow to make it easy to sing along but Camilo Septimo’s lyrics and music create a well-oiled song that the la gringa can sing with them.
The band released their full-length album in 2019 and since then have been releasing various singles. Earlier this year, the band released a collaboration with Francisca Valenzuela called, “Galactica.” The song didn’t have the same electronic feel as this week’s “Veneno” but nevertheless is still a good song. We pretty much like everything Valenzuela puts out.
