Today’s new music playlist arrived and we started our jam on the way to work. We have to have real full time jobs in order to pay for our music habit. Today’s list wasn’t that exciting because a lot of the music was rehashes from last week, just different songs. Also, there was a lot of music that we’ll skip and/or singles that we might talk about later. So… without further ado, here is this week’s list.
- Complex Female Character by Sleater-Kinney: My wife’s music but the album is not good, just an FYI.
- La Luz by La Habitacion Roja: This album was featured last week and we already reviewed it.
- Shiseido by Los Punsetes: Not a bad song, but I am waiting for the album.
- Amarcord by Corizonas: I have this band in my catalog but this is a single. Let’s wait it out.
- Al Final Abrazos by Mujeres & Carino: From the new EP. Originally was going to pass, but the song surprised me. Let’s talk about this soon.
- Universo (featuring Zahara) by Delaporte: I have heard of both artists. The song comes from a short album or EP. It is listed as an album with 7 tracks. I didn’t care for the song, but I will take a listen to the album. Let’s see if it’s any good.
- Frane Selak by Los Pilotos & Little Jesus: Both bands are in my list. We reviewed Little Jesus as while back. This is from the Los Pilotos album which is all duets. Let’s see what it’s about this coming week.
- Nosotros by Claim: I am excited to see this. It’s a good song. How long do I need to wait for a new album?
- Sin Dudar (featuring The Leadings) by GLAS!: Was a pretty good track but it’s a single. I’d like to see what else there is for this band.
- Huracan by Comandante Twin: Interesting and worth the listen. Might go back and see if they have anything else since this is just a single.
- Que Rico Fuera by Ricky Martin & Paloma Mami: Very Puerto Rican sounding. Ricky does a lot of singles and duets. We can skip.
- Why (Mexican Edition) by Aleks Syntek & Juliette Ashby: Didn’t pay much attention to this because Aleks is doing “Why” songs in a bunch of different versions. Maybe when he is done they will all come together for a Why EP.
- La Quiero Para Mi by Kalimba: I used to getting a lot of different sounds and styles from Kalimba, nothing surprises me anymore. We’ll wait for the album.
- Libra by Erik Rubin, Ranjith & Grupo Libra: Not sure what this actually is for Erik Rubin. It’s all instrumental, so I don’t know what part he plays. I’ll research later.
- Aqui No Hay Pena by Ximena SariƱana: The single was okay. Didn’t find it all that special. Skip for now.
- Lo Tuyo No Tiene Madre by Alex Ferreira & Daniela Spalla: It’s an acoustic version so very slow. Pass.
- Unsatisfied by PJAMA: I think I might have downloaded other songs by this band, but meh. Pass.
- Profugos (Featuring Mabiland) by Juan Pablo Vega: Not sure why this was recommended but we have disliked this. Pass.
- En Cuanto by Entre Rios: This band is on my list and the song is off of an 8-track album. We’ll give it a go.
- La Democracia by Mon Laferte: From her Mexican folk album which is no longer pop. Skip.
- Ladrones by Lasso & Daniela Paola: I’ve liked Lasso in the past but he seems to have moved to the more urban pop sound. Pass.
- Mienteme by TINI & Maria Becerra: Again with the urban pop sound. Dislike and Pass.
- Hoy Ya Me Voy by Arthur Hanion & Kany Garcia: On my list because I have Kany’s Limonada album. Arthur is a pianist and this album features female vocalists. Meh!
- Yo No Canto by Tessa La: I’ve had Tessa La on my list so this is why it’s been recommended. It’s not bad. Let’s wait for a new album.
- On The Road Again by Alanis Morissette & Willie Nelson: Yep, this was recommended because I have Alanis’s Jagged Little Pill album.
And that is this week’s recommended songs. A lot of skips and disappointments but there are a few things to investigate. I love Fridays because of new music day.
