On May 28, 2021, alternative pop artist Esteman of Mexico City, released his new album Si Volviera A Nacer (If I were born again) and it is filled with new music and new duets for the performer.
Si Volviera A Nacer features 10 tracks of pop and easy listening pop music, and this is a treat. My wife was the first to download the music from Apple Music and immediately played the album for me as we drove around doing errands. Before I go into what I think of the album, I wanted to dive a little into what this website is and how it came about. Lately, I have been struggling to find a place and a purpose in life; I needed something to feel like my life has a purpose. It was while listening to this album that I ultimately gave into what and who I am. I told my wife that the one constant thing in my life as, and always will be Latin pop music. It was here that I came up with a new baby for me.
I thank Esteman and this new album for bringing a spark back to my life. It is because of listening to this album that I wanted to talk about the music I love and hence, SIEMPRE EN DOMINGO was born. I sit out on my patio with my headphones on and kittens basking in the sun with me that we enjoy the song stylings of Esteman and his album of duets.
Si Volviera A Nacer is a combination of pop tracks and ballads that tells me that my musical tastes have changed so much over the 38 years of listening to Latin pop. Before I might have needed a dance around the room with the newest boyband, but today I am embracing a little lighter musical format. By saying this, I am not in any way saying that Esteman is all easy-listening. You just don’t need as many beats per minute to have a great pop song.
Esteman gives us enough pop to add a few favorite tracks to my list and upcoming road-trip playlist. He lets us know disco isn’t dead with the song, Recuerdame, a duet with Marco Mares, and with the song, “Hasta Que Tú Me Quieras.” Where I think the album shines is with the duet with the pop band, Miranda. The song “Juan Y Paul” is such a fun track that I think the world needs a full album with this collaboration. While I am not a big fan of collaborations, Esteman and Miranda is awesome.
This album is a welcoming addition to my collection of tunes that spans over three decades. AUN HAY MAS!
